Where Families Find Their Way Again
Support and guidance for families affected by addiction
Compassionate, evidence-based support for families affected by addiction.
Because recovery is not only for the person with the addiction — it belongs to the whole family...

YOU'RE NOT ALONE
When someone you love struggles with addiction, it affects everything.
You may feel worried, exhausted, confused…
Or stuck between wanting to help and not knowing how.
Most families try harder.
Explain more. Support more. Push more.
And still… nothing really changes.
Not because you’re doing it wrong.
But because addiction doesn’t work the way we think it does.
At Family Recovery Central, we help you understand what’s really going on,
and what actually helps.
HOW WE APPROACH RECOVERY
A Different Approach
A Different Way to Think About Recovery
Family recovery is not about “tough love” or giving up on someone you care about.
It is about learning how to:
- Stay connected without enabling
- Set boundaries without punishment
- Respond to behaviour instead of reacting to emotions
- Regulate your nervous system before making decisions
- Focus on what you can influence and let go of what you can’t
When families become more stable and clear, recovery becomes more possible for everyone.
Start Where You Are
You don’t need to figure everything out at once.
You don’t need to have the “right” answer.
Just begin with what fits your situation right now.
I'm Overwhelmed
Things feel urgent, overwhelming, or out of control
I Don’t Know What To Believe Anymore
I feel confused, exhausted, and unsure what is real
We’ve Been Through This Before
The cycle keeps repeating and I don’t know what to change
I Don’t Know How To Set Boundaries
I feel stuck between love, fear, and responsibility
They’re Changing, But I’m Not Ready
My loved one is improving, but I still feel overwhelmed or cautious
I’m Constantly Afraid Something Will Go Wrong
I worry about relapse, overdose, or losing them
I Want To Understand Addiction And Recovery
I want to support this the right way from the start
When It’s Your Child
Everything feels different when it’s your son or daughter
Every Family Has Their Own Starting Point
The person you love is not the problem.
The addiction is.
And you are not powerless.
Families play a powerful role in recovery.
Not by forcing change, but by creating the conditions where change becomes possible.

About Family Recovery Central
founder
Family Recovery Central was created by Dr Constant Mouton, a psychiatrist specialised in addiction care, with a deep focus on families, trauma, and long-term recovery.
This work is grounded in clinical experience, but shaped by something broader: a belief that healing in families creates change that extends across generations.
"Addiction never affects just one person — and recovery shouldn’t either."
“In my work, I’ve seen how much families carry. Often without support, guidance, or a clear path forward.”
